Welcome to our website!
We hope that you'll enjoy browsing through the photo galleries and checking out the other parts of the site.We live in Niger, West Africa.
Niger is an amazing country. 2/3 of it is desert and we live in the bottom 1/3 also called the 'Sahel'. When it rains, that is where it falls and in the rainy season the area is quite green and a real contrast to the rest of Niger which is so brown.
Niger is one of the poorest countries in the world and people have few of the comforts we are used to in NZ. Most people live in mud houses on 'compounds' surrounded by a matting fence to create a bit of privacy. There can be several houses on a compound, and extended families often live together. Cooking is all done outside over a fire. The Nigeriens make some awesome dishes made with rice and sauce.
